Something Rotten

The Augusta Players Presents: Something Rotten starting February 25 – 27 at the Imperial Theatre. Something Rotten, featuring large song and dance numbers, and a wacky cast of characters. “The funniest musical comedy in 400 years!”. The Bottom brothers are desperate to write a hit. When a soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, they learn that:“…nothing’s as amazing as a musical!”

 

 

Chris Botti

Critically acclaimed and largest selling American instrumental artist, Chris Botti will be LIVE in concert at the Miller Theater on March 4 at 7:30 p.m.  Over the past three decades, Botti has recorded and performed with the best in music, including Sting, Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga, Josh Groban, Yo-Yo Ma, Michael Bublé, Paul Simon and more.

What better way to relax than with Yoga in the Gallery? Space Yoga Studio will instruct a yoga class for all-levels in the beautiful Westobou Gallery with gentle movements for relaxation on March 4 at 6:15 p.m. Admission is Free, you’re encouraged to bring a mat and water bottle.

 

Paddle with Two Dudes - Sunrise Tour

Spring means warmer temperatures, which is a great time for kayaking. Enjoy the Sunrise Tour provided by Two Dudes and a Boat on March 5 and any other weekend at 7:00 a.m. This 2.5 hour guided kayaking tour starts off easy by paddling with the river’s current into the morning sunrise.

 

St. Patrick’s Day Fun Run

There’s lots of ways to enjoy St. Pattie’s Day and a fun run is no exception. Join the folks at Fleet Feet for a St. Patrick’s Day Fun Run on March 17 at 6:00p.m. This run is completely free and open to walkers and runners of all fitness levels. Don’t forget to wear green.

 

Full Moon Hike

Enjoy the serenade of tree frogs to the soothing calls of Barred Owls on a Full Moon Hike on March 18 at 5:00 p.m. You’ll enjoy a guided, leisurely hike through the Phinizy Swamp Nature Park trails with the light of a full moon and the sounds of the Swamp. Children and adults are welcomed.

Comedian Kathleen Madigan

Prepare for a night of laughs at Comedian Kathleen Madigan’s “Do You Have Any Ranch?” Tour on March 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Miller Theater. She’s squeezed in over 40 appearances on late night talk shows and multiple comedy specials airing on Netflix, Comedy Central and HBO.

 

Spring Wing Fest

Springtime means food festivals and SPR Park is hosting the 2nd Spring Wing Fest on March 19 at 1:00 p.m. at SPR Park home of the Augusta GreenJackets. Enjoy the best food trucks in the Southeast as they battle it out to see who will be named the Augusta Wing-Off Champ and win $1,000. The Spring Wing Fest combines live music, great wings, craft beer, and food trucks for a clucking good time.

 

Run the Runway 5K

Lace up your sneakers for the inaugural Run the Runway on March 19 at 8:00 a.m. at the Augusta Regional Airport at Bush Field. This sanctioned race is a fundraiser for Augusta’s Forces United organization which connects service members, Veteran’s and their families, from all eras, wounded or not, with programs and resources to mitigate crisis, improve their lives and empower them to prosper in the community.

Roast on the River: Augusta

Get ready for the return of Roast on the River: Augusta on March 26 at 6:00 p.m. at 328 Riverfront Drive, Augusta, GA. This night of live music, craft beer, good times, and great fresh Lowcountry oysters.  This is a fundraiser where 100% of the proceeds support the efforts of Savannah Riverkeeper, as work continues to make the beautiful Savannah River a cleaner place.

The Parker Quartet

Enjoy the luminous sound, and exceptional musicianship are the hallmarks of the Grammy Award-winning Parker Quartet on March 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre on the campus of Augusta University. Renowned for its dynamic interpretations and polished, expansive colors, the group has rapidly distinguished itself as one of the preeminent ensembles of its generation, dedicated purely to the sound and depth of their music.

South Augusta Farmers Market

Experience fun for the entire family at the South Augusta Farmers Market from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. The market’s top priority is providing access to fresh, healthy food for the neighborhood and surrounding area. Also enjoy urban ballroom dance demos, a petting zoo and apiary, and more.

Sculpture Trail
