2018 Pistol Challenge

We challenge you!  The Tactical Advantage Sportsman's Complex is hosting a Pistol Shooting Challenge.  Do you have what it takes to take down the competition?  All firearms must be semi-automatic or revolver, .22 to .45 caliber.  Register in advance at TASC or the day of the event from 11 am to 1 pm. Lunch is available for $20 per person. Must be 16 or older to participate.

Two Classes: Open sights and telescopic, peep type sites are in the telescopic class.

One Age Group: Shooters 16 and older. Prizes will be awarded based on the number of registered competitors in each class / experience group.

Two experience categories: Those who have competed in a sanctioned match (NRA, CMP IPSC, est.) and those who have not.

All firing will be done from the standing position at 6 and 14 yards for those who have not fired a sanctioned match and 14 and 25 yards for those who have fired a sanctioned match.

Shooters with a disability that limits their ability to stand may fire from their chair, seated at/on the bench as long as no portion of their arms is supported by the chair or bench.

Thirty scored shots fired in five shot strings. Ten rounds slow and ten rounds rapid fire at 6 (14) yards and ten rounds slow fire at 14 (25) yards. Five minutes will be allowed for each slow fire set and 2 minutes for the rapid fire set including the reload for each set. All shots will be fired on the standard 25 yard pistol target.

Each group of ten rounds will be fired on a separate target. Limited number of revolvers / pistols are available as rentals. Shooters are encouraged to bring their own weapon. Please note that anyone bringing a weapon on to Fort Gordon must have obtained a approval from the Provost Marshall though the main MP Station. The approval process is simple but it does take them three to four days to run the background check. No weapons serial numbers are required from civilians and or retired military members for submission of the approval request form-Call Outdoor recreation for assistance or more info.

Hearing protection is required for all personnel on the firing line. Eye protection is recommended.
