Knitting is an activity that has been used as therapy for service members wounded in battle, for those with arthritis and Alzheimer's as well.
The Knitting Circle welcomes knitters of all levels. Basic instruction for beginners is given. The group includes every skill level, from brand new knitters to experienced, artisan crafters. They also welcome those who love crochet to join them. Learn from others, exchange ideas, and make new friends. From 20-something service members and spouses to retirees, the Knitting Circle provides a comforting place to knit your bit. Adults only please.
Benefits of knitting include:
- relieves depression
- reduces anxiety
- builds self-esteem
- may reduce or postpone dementia
- reduce irritability and restlessness
