MWR Star is an initiative to recognize exemplary employees in MWR. People who go above and beyond to assist MWR customers and their co-workers. One individual is chosen monthly to be featured as our star, spotlighting details about themselves and their position within MWR.
Our July star is Mrs. Sharell Byrd form Army Community Service. She has been with MWR for two years and is our Employment Readiness Specialist. She assists Military Spouses, Transitioning Service Members, DOD Civilian Employees and their Families seeking employment in the Fort Gordon/CSRA area. She is from Ellabell, GA which is a small town near Savannah. Sharell enjoys traveling and spending time with family during her off time.
Some words of wisdom that Mrs. Byrd lives by are from the bible. She often references Isaiah 40:31 “But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint”. Her favorite aspects of working with MWR are assisting Military Spouses going through similar, or the same, job search challenges she has experienced as a Military Spouse. “My goal is to set each client up for success. I aspire to ensure that each client walking through the doors of ACS seeking assistance with their job search receive all the resources he/she needs to secure employment. The helping profession is my passion, it gives me a purpose and motivates me to spare no efforts in helping Fort Gordon Cyber Center of Excellence Military Community” says Sharell.
