Fun, Learning, and Growth for Military Children

CYS provides a wide range of activities, classes, and programs designed to help children and youth learn new skills, stay active, and make friends in a safe, supportive environment.

Child Development Center Programs 

  • Army Child Development Centers (CDCs) are on-post facilities dedicated to reducing familial stress and support workforce readiness by offering full-time, part-time and hourly care service options for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age in nationally accredited programs.  

  • Strong Beginnings Pre-K. A school readiness program for 4- to 5-year-olds that prepares them for kindergarten with hands-on learning

School Age Programs

  • School Age Centers (SAC).Before- and after-school programs for K-5th* grade that include STEM, arts, sports, homework help, and summer camps and care available for holidays and school breaks. *Care may extend to 6th grade depending on school configuration.

Youth & Teen Enrichment Programs

  • Youth Centers (Middle and High School). Safe spaces for teens with open recreation, leadership programs, clubs, and social events
  • Torch Club and Keystone Club. Leadership programs for middle and high school students that focus on community service and personal growth
  • Teen Council. A chance for teens to help shape programs and events at youth centers
  • Youth Technology Labs. Hands-on learning in robotics, digital arts, gaming, and coding
  • Youth Sponsorship. Opportunities for teens to help their peers integrate into a new environment after a move

Sports & Fitness

  • Youth Sports & Fitness. Individual and seasonal sports leagues including soccer, basketball, baseball, cheerleading, and track & field
  • Sports Clinics and Camps. Short-term training programs that teach fundamental sports skills and teamwork
  • Fitness and Health Programs. Age-appropriate fitness training, nutrition education, and strength-building activities
